Firstly, a march pass was done in Adamawa on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, aimed at sensitizing the people on peaceful ways of countering #HateSpeech and incitement to violence in the communities themed: “𝙈𝒐𝙣 𝘾𝒐𝙢𝒃𝙖𝒕: 𝙕𝒆𝙧𝒐 𝑫𝙞𝒔𝙘𝒐𝙪𝒓𝙨 𝙙𝒆 𝑯𝙖𝒊𝙣𝒆 𝒅𝙖𝒏𝙨 𝙡’𝘼𝒅𝙖𝒎𝙖𝒐𝙪𝒂” coordinated by our partner Association pour l’éducation à la citoyenneté numérique
𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟗 in 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐚, we had a workshop with administrative and traditional authorities, Youth and community leaders to fine tune strategies of mitigating hate speech in Garoua and amplify the usage of the Field Guide as a peace building tool.
𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟐, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐚 played host to a workshop with administrative, traditional and youth leaders as they shared perspectives on best practices to mitigate #HateSpeech and #FakeNews in the Far North. Followed by sensitization and stakeholder meetings within the region with key partners
𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟑, a sensitization talk with students at the Lycée de Mouda was held followed by a visit to the head office of ARDHU.cm still in Maroua.
To crown the day, our team made up of Stephen Kovats, Desmond Ngala and Kinang Derick were guests on a series of interviews done on Radio Sahel Gotel and @Sembe and held stakeholder meetings with other partners in Maroua on the possibilities of amplifying the use of the Field Guide by more institutional bodies and organisations operating in the Northern regions.
