The Silicon Mountain conference is a yearly event held in Buea that gathers more than 3000 youth, Start ups and CSOs to organize a Tech Innovation week to consult, network, exchange ideas, showcase products or services, meet stakeholders, investors, and discuss possible solutions to common tech challenges.
Like last year, this year #defyhatenow is also present at the conference with our colleagues Desmond Ngala, and Dan King’ori with one of our collaborators Vianney Forewah as they share perspectives on how to build peace and social cohesion using the #ASKotec project, and equally meeting other tech organisations like KiawiTechIT Academy, Nervtek, @Motowa, Solar City, Codam Academy, @Data Girl
#defyhatenow in Cameroon seeks to support those voices acting against the conflict to go ‘viral’ within and outside the country – bringing the diaspora into the online peace building framework, bridging gaps of knowledge and awareness of social media mechanisms between those with access to technology and those without.
