As group they were committed to empowering the community in which they live, work and study .YEF is a home grown local group that would be neither non –organization.
YEF started without technical of financial resources, behind the brains taught and hacked their way in to a peer to peer mentorship structure that sought to give an opportunity for host and refugee to exchange knowledge, develop ideas and find means to share these in order to cement the process of peace building networking.
We called this knowledge innovation center open- KIC
Self-styled build of collaborative learning without a fixed space or structure that could exist virtually anywhere, after seeing and experiencing the ways in which media and ICTs can encourage economic and social innovation in Africa, YEF looked to create and open and independent entity that could empower communities , address urgent literacy challenges and tackle difficult aspect of the regions historical development and cultural scenarios
THE PREAMBLE
Aware that…
Economic empowerment is a fundamental right for every human being in the world irrespective of nationality, political affiliation, religion, ethnic origin and sex
Many south Sudanese and Ugandan youths live under vulnerable economic deprivation and hardly provide for their livelihood of the youths
The development of a modern society and nation depends on the sound livelihood support so that they know their responsibilities towards their communities, environment and peaceful coexistence with the neighbors
Youths need business skills for survival under the circumstance, Refugee life and rebuilding their country when peace comes, the possibility of achieving peace in South Sudan is the near future still remains uncertain prolonging the refuge exile.
The foundation is founded for such educational and ensuring social media platform sustainability and the host and refugee community.
We are committed to serving the needy with integrity and humility. YEF is committed to promoting community participation and contribution for sustainable development and also peace building among the youth. It also an effort to ensure the community is involved in the project design process.
Youth Engagement: young people have important things to say and contribute and value the participation of young people in the decision making and developing .build a sense of pride in the community, especially in the youth by working in the community, by running business workshop or seminars. Provide mentoring to young people wanting to set up new business in the camps and keep young people idea.
