The initiative aims to foster civic engagement and digital initiatives as proactive measures to address the pervasive issues of hate speech and the incitement of violence online in Ethiopia.

Online and Semi-Offline Safe Spaces for Women
The objective of the Online and Semi-Offline Safe Spaces initiative is to create a supportive and empowering environment for women to engage in critical discussions and activities related to Media Information and Literacy (MIL), Gender-Based Violence (GBV) inclusive of Mental Health and Healing on Post-Conflict Trauma, and Cybersecurity and Privacy.

Africa Fact Checking Fellowship Ethiopia (#AFFEthiopia)
The fellowship is building a network of citizen fact-checkers equipped to identify and combat false information in Ethiopia. The three-month program is designed to support individuals and organizations in media, peacebuilding, civic engagement, conflict resolution, and Ethiopian diaspora or refugee community engagement. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of hate speech and effective strategies for mitigating it in Ethiopia.
